My husband tries hard to be a good day.
And, occassionally we screw up. Our plans not to argue in front of our child don't always work out. We shout when we shouldn't. We have a short fuse at times. And, sometimes we step back and worry that perhaps we should be better parents.
But, then there are the days when we realize that despite the craziness of our lives, and the stress that comes along with it, that maybe we're not doing such a bad job.
Yesterday Matthew drew a picture of us, as a family.(and, since when can he draw people???).
To me it was a pretty amazing moment.
I've posted it below, but feel free to enlarge it. Matt explained it to me in detail.
It's Mommy and Daddy holding hands because we love each other. Matthew is holding Daddy's hand because I have a baby in my tummy.
So, maybe I'm not perfect all the time. But, if this is how Matt views his family I think we're doing pretty well.

So cute Laural! I know what you mean about how did he know how to draw people? Lindsey just started that one day out of the blue too! Draws everyone, Mom, Dad, Mac, Grandma, Granddad, Nana, Papa all her aunts, uncles and cousins! It's soooo cute!
Hope you guys have a wonderful new year! I really did want to see you guys but our car is busted so we are on foot for the next week!
That picture is priceless--you should have it framed!!!
It reminds me of a class book I made with my Kindergarten kids--we called it "What is inside Mrs. "'s" tummy?".
That book will stay with me forever, priceless! Almost all of the girls drew girl babies and the boys drew boy babies!
So sweet! My girlie sometimes says "we're all together! Like a family!" which makes me laugh, actually girlie, we ARE a family.

Oh my gosh!!! That's awesome! And, so exciting that he can start expressing himself through drawing like that! Awesome! You're great parents...CLEARLY! :)
That is so sweet!!! I often feel the same way...that despite how much we try, normal everyday moments sneak in there.
Obviously he feels secure & loved! Good job!!!
